Dropshipper News - Dec 14, 2004
Hi Again. Armand here from http://www.dropship-suppliers.com . I want to send out big thank you for the survey participation - I was flooded with some really useful feedback. 5 random participants have been drawn from the survey respondents. Maestro! Drum roll please - and the winners are: Nick Kear Vic Payo Jessica Jones Marc Ferguson Roberta Wickley Each of
these people has won a 1 yr. paid subscription to an e-commerce
website at It will take time to analyze the survey data in full but ... One huge surprise I got from the survey data was that people who already purchased the Ultimate Dropshipper were entering the survey just for the possibility of getting personal mentoring from me. In fact, anyone who has purchased the Ultimate Dropshipper already has access to personal mentoring! This tells me that the whole mentoring concept is being missed by many people & has to be much more front & center in the Ultimate Dropshipper & on my website. So let me clarify things right now - when you purchase the Ultimate Dropshipper, you have access to personal mentoring from me. That means that you can email me anytime at the mentoring email and get individualized help when you need it (this special email is in the Ultimate Dropshipper book > click 'Contents' on the toolbar at the top then click 'Where to Start' ). I have only been offering this mentoring option for a limited time so just check your ebook for the mentoring email to see if you qualify. The mentoring option is there to help people overcome the obstacles that can sometimes seem insurmountable when you learn from a book. I'm a real believer in hands-on learning. Even though the Ultimate Dropshipper is filled with great information on how to setup an online business, there is nothing like being able to talk to an experienced e-seller if you get bogged down by fear or decision making paralysis. Through mentoring people simply email me and say: "Hey Armand, I don't seem to be able to understand this concept" OR "I am stuck at this - can you help me decide what my next step should be?" Then I email back & provide them with guidance based on real world online selling experience. It's a pretty simple process: send an email & you get a helpful response. Although I am nearing the limit, I still have room for more people - I'll only keep offering the mentoring option as long as I can keep up with the demand for personal help. So if you think you might benefit from having access to this kind of help, check out the main http://www.dropship-suppliers.com website for more details or to download a copy of the Ultimate Dropshipper. Dropshipping for e-sellers outside the USAI get email from people all around the world asking about whether dropshippers ship internationally. I'll quote directly from the Ultimate Dropshipper on this. From my book:
**********
A note to people living outside the USA - if you bought this package thinking that you would find dropshippers in your country, I am sorry to tell you that there are very few. The consumer/industrial base in the US has made it the mecca for selling online using the dropship method. But don't let this discourage you. Most people selling successfully online (even those from outside the USA) are selling to US buyers using US suppliers. The consumer market in the US is huge so there is great opportunity to tap into it. There are a few dropshippers who will ship internationally. But I don't encourage this because shipping & international duties are prohibitive and can be a real pain to deal with. Imagine the cost to ship a single item from New Jersey to Sydney Australia? Forget it... My advice is to focus on the US market until you are well established & have got some money rolling in. If you want to look at potential for a product in your country, do so once you have some success online. You want to start with the deck stacked in your favor not against you. Trying to sell outside the US market will be much more difficult especially if you have little or no experience selling online. So build on your success by looking at non-US markets later. Exception Case: if you're in a non-US market & you have access to a region specific product ( e.g. something that only Aussie's seem to want or need ) or you have an idea for a targeted product/service, then you might want to look into it further. The key is specificity & how you will reach the market for the product. Everything in this book still applies to setting up, selecting/testing product & marketing your business. The only difference is that you'll have to find suppliers in your neck of the woods & negotiate with them. They might indeed dropship for you if you can show them how it is in their interest to do so. Or they may want you to start with bulk purchases in order to assess whether you will actually move some product. Either way, it's not impossible to setup a business that targets a non-US market, so I don't want you to throw out the idea. But the main obstacle will be testing products quickly - since you have no native dropshippers, it will take more time to access the products you want to test. If you are not in the US, the process of getting setup with dropshippers is easy. All you have to do is email/fax a copy of your local business license to the supplier & they will set you up without hassle. And many won't even require that much. I am in Canada so I just scanned a copy of my business license & saved it on my PC. Whenever I want to deal with a new dropshipper, I just email them telling them that I'm not in the US, but that I'd like to forward a copy of my business license so that they can setup my account. I've not had a supplier refuse to deal with me yet. So being outside the US is not a problem at all ... A note for sellers in Canada Although it is tempting to want to sell to both Canada & the US markets, my advice is to stick with selling to the US only. Here's why - if you are using a US supplier to sell to buyers in Canada, you are going to run into a whole lot of problems with xborder issues. Customs, duties, clearance forms, etc... Yuk! Some products have duties while others don't. Shipping companies will try to extract customs brokerage fees from you or your buyers and you will have a pack of headaches. If the supplier is not in Canada then decline any orders from Canada. There are a few suppliers in Canada, but you can count them on 2 hands. So unless you have a hot lead on a product you can get from a dropship supplier in Canada, stick with the bigger US market & access to the greatest number of options for products & dropshippers. ********** Introducing my friend Tim Knox Tim is an online guru I met a few months ago - he's been doing business online for about 10 years now and has amassed quite a wealth of e-selling resources. You can learn more about Tim's unique approach to selling online at his site: http://www267.dropshipwholesale.net I highly recommend it. Tim & I have talked about doing some live teleseminars after Xmas. I'll keep you posted.
Well that's all for now. Cheers for this week and remember - only 9 shopping days 'til Xmas! It's a stereotype I know, but men tend to leave Xmas shopping to the last minute. And we wonder why our wives are pissed when they unwrap our poorly thought out last-minute gifts. Thank God I got all my shopping done on Monday; no more mall madness for me [Yahoo!]. My message to all you last-minute guys: get out there now & find something that your partner will really appreciate! Subtly prod for hints if you have to. Doesn't have to be expensive or fancy but it should require some thought. In taking the time to find a meaningful gift, you convey the message that your wife/partner is the center of your world. And that is priceless... What's that I hear in the background - a chorus of tiny violins? Now please excuse me while I find a tissue <sniffle, sniffle>! Until next week them,
